"Ferrari's Ass is Mine"- Carroll Shelby

 0402-0207

By May 1963, a single meeting in Modena made everything suddenly personal.

When Enzo Ferrari pulled out of a deal to sell Ferrari to Ford, the embers of past bruises, losses of a friend and a desire to win big on the track drove Shelby and Ford to build cars to beat Ferrari. For Carroll Shelby and Henry Ford II it was now very personal.

Here at the Cobra Club we are dedicated to Carroll Shelby and the memory of his involvement in motor racing from 1961-1969. The site is managed by Archivea GmbH of Lugano, Switzerland, licensees of Ford Motor Company, The Henry Ford Museums and Carroll Shelby Licensing. - We a long time fans who grew up in Southern California in this era and was blessed with having met many of the men in these photos.

Here you will find photographs from many talented Ford Motor Company staff photographers from the era. You will also find many shots that include those taken by or provided by Dave Friedman who has captured and preserved auto racing history through his photography. His work -- and his collection of works by other photographers -- documents key races, vehicles, drivers, and teams. These Friedman collected photographs are courtesy of The Henry Ford Museums. Additional images from the archives at Carroll Shelby Licensing are also found proudly here.
